What did everyone think of the performances last night?

Kemo, I didn't get to watch it last night as I was otherwise engaged but the kids did and recorded it for me on Sky + so I'll get to watch it later today.

Good man Pat, I will not give anything away then untill you have a watch. I miss the subtitles for the judges comments as my Irish is not the greatest.

probably his best so far....and as I said before about Justin McGurk, I thought he murdered that song too...he was lucky to go through.

They seem to be bigging up that girl Sinead Taggart soley on her looks. I do not think Jane McNamee should have went. I am not a fan of shows like this where it’s orchestrated to a point that a few individuals get to settle on who goes and who stays, if the public make the decision fair enough but I do not believe these three should represent the final say of the public. But fundamentally it’s always going to be about taste and for me, and my taste, the “judges” made an error in judgment by not allowing Jane to go through to the next stage. This girl - in my view - gave an entirely faultless performance and deserved to stay in. I am pleased young Thomas is still there, and even though his performance was good he struggled a little in some areas, but overall he did a fine job. Be interesting to see what he’ll bring to the table next week. Sinead, the nervous girl that she is, performed far better this week with Blue Moon of Kentucky. I'm already looking forward to next week.

I agree with you Pat about Jane McNamee....did Justin McGurk just go through to 'way up' the odds?

Next week it's Irish night, they all have to sing in Irish. Thomas will sing Galway Girl on the night, his Irish is as bad as mine I'll keep you all posted if I hear any further news.

I agree with you Pat about Jane McNamee....did Justin McGurk just go through to 'way up' the odds? If Justin would've been put out last night Kev, it would've just left Thomas and 4 girls which does seem very odd as there were 5 boys and 4 girls to start with. I agree with your way of thinking. In the first page of this thread I remarked that Jane was the most natural singer out of all the girls, she should be still there IMHO.

Back on tonight again guys. All contestants will sing two songs, one of which has to be in Irish. Two will leave tonight leaving three for the final the following wednesday night. Thomas has chosen to sing Galway Girl in Irish, and Can you feel it by Ricky Lyn Gregg. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Midihangout for your continued support and texts. I just hope that he can make the final next week. Show airs tonight at 10.30pm

Well guys...it's looking more like a fix every week....how did Justin McGurk get through tonight....even my wife said that he was the worst on tonight. I wouldn't be surprised if he wins it now...as they say in GAA...through the back door. Of the three that were in the 'vote off' he surely was the weaker....but well done to Thomas.

I have to agree Kev, I thought Sinead Murray was the best out of the bottom three. How can someone be in the bottom three for three weeks and still get through? Definitely not looking very fair at the minute.

As eluded to before l have little confidence in the “judges’” ability to be objective and unbiased in this series, if anything everything I have seen so far has only reinforced my concerns.
