Hi Everyone. I think we should start a sort of a Poll asking our members about what kind of subjects they would like to see on our Forum. We might wake up a few of the laid back guys who might want to air their opinions, and we could try and bring them in to the fold. This is such a lovely place, and everyone comes out to help. To me its like my family, but I guess there are in-laws present who think otherwise.

Not a bad idea Shyam,
Though I imagine many of them would say "MIDI files", which would be a little difficult to fulfil. If it's articles or tutorials they are after, then I'm willing to have a go as far as my time and expertise go. But it's worth a try I think. How do we implement it? By asking our illustrious admin or moderators to mail everyone?

Good idea for a new thread Weegeo and Shyam, I bet we will have a varied selection of answers to the influences and people we have played with. It will certainly be interesting. Who is gonna start it up?

Hi All, I like this idea, so here's my suggestion. What about a "Tips & Tricks" section on the various midi/audio applications that our members are using? I know there are numerous forums for such applications, but we are a small group compared to the dedicated forums, which I would have thought would generate a more personal reply/discussion. For starters, I am using GarageBand, Logic Express 9, Cakewalk 9 etc. What do you think?

I don't have GarageBand or Logic, but I do have CWPA9, Cubase LE, Sonar LE and now Sonar 7 Producer Edition, as well as a small stack of hardware including older Yamaha and Roland sound modules. And now starting down the road of virtual instruments. So, much is possible from my end, time allowing. JohnG.

Count me in for the 'Tips & Tricks' section, sounds like a good idea ... I'm using GarageBand and getting ready to move into Logic 8(Studio) sometime in the future

I'm one of those guys that likes to listen to the conversation. When I've got something to say, I say it. Otherwise, I try to shut my mouth, open my ears (so to speak), and learn from some great musicians.

sus4chord, its nice to hear you after so long !!! I'm sure you'll have some experiences to talk about and I wish you would post in some of these. Yes, I agree ..... Tips and Tricks will be a great section to talk about our influences and what we've learnt from our interaction with other musicians. I'm afraid I cannot drop any big names, but still , there are some experiences which I want to share, so I'll start getting my thoughts together and will post in.

Hi to you shyam and to other forum members. No I don't believe in Hies and byes. I just have my hands full with 6 kids all day. 4 are ours and 2 girls we are fostering and hopefully adopt them next year if their parents don't get their life straight. I work from home (making music) and play on weekends in clubs. I pull an average of 18-19 hours a day and the only time to get some work done, is after the little ones go to bed. I go in my studio and work until 01:00-02:00. 06:30, the day starts again. I am all for what was proposed on the above posts and thank the Administrator and Moderators for keeping this forum going. This is the best forum that I've joint in years. Everyone is polite and not shouting profanity when things go wrong. I like that and hope it stays that way. I apologies if I don't pitch in to help or propose something. Things are getting better on this end, so hopefully you all will see more of me.
