New tablet

Just got my new tablet today can't download anything on it it just says can't open file tried van basco karafun Tunes and windows media i can download files but nothing to play them with can anyone help

Did you say you have downloaded those progs Karafun and Van Basco ? are they midis your trying to play ? It surely has some kind of Media Player installed right ?

Hi Barry yes I can download. Midis its the players I can't get when I download them van basco etc and click on them it says can't open file

For midi files your gonna need a player that will play that format so Van Basco should be fine for that purpose. I know Karafun only plays Mp3/Wavs etc.

Did you download Van Basco from the Tablet itself or from your PC ? So its the Van Basco Prog you can't open right ? VB won't work on my iPad either.

You can try and see if this Prog works for you ..

Thanks Barry for your help but i'm afraid that doesn't work either i was at it most of the day yesterday to no avail gave up now its alright for everything else just not for gigging

I know a guy who's using a tablet something similar and he gigs away fine with it so don't give up yet its prob something small prob just a setting you need to change try also the Manual might help you out. Sorry can't be of more help don't know exactly what your trying to do... can you play any files at all or can you just not open any Progs?.

There's an Upate/Firmware Fix for your tablet here. It might not solve your problem but worth a try. Just make sure your Serial No. matches the correct download. Failing that I would contact Support they should sort it out for you I'm sure.

Do you mean you cant open and play mid/kar files or you can't install a player ?

First off, look on the desktop of it and see what media players are installed, or under installed apps,
on google play there are lots of players for android, does it just play a standard mp3 if you try it.
At this stage you should contact who you bought it from they would probably help you sort it, you may have to download a dedicated player for midis but it should play mp3 without any problems.
After looking on the net I don't think Vanbasco works on Android, I can't really see you getting a very good sound if you played midis anyway I would think you should stick to MP3 if you wanted to gig with it.

Hi Jacqui have tried everything it downloads some players but it doesn't play i have given up stick to my laptop just use it net browsing thanks a lot for your advice you too Barry

I just tried above link (http://androidapp.lisisoft.com/apps-android-phone/468495-com.ulduzsoft.karplayer.html) and hey presto it works by allowing me to download the free Ulduzsoft Karaoke Player to my new Android tablet (ASUS Nexus 7). I then copied my collection of midis from my pc over a usb cable to the tablet and this also works. I then tried to play those midis on the Karaoke Player on the tablet and this also works fine with excellent sound quality. It only seems to work for those midis with lyrics embedded and does not work for MP3 files which have no lyrics embedded.

I notice that, while the lyrics are displayed on the tablet, the chords are not displayed on the tablet, even though they are in the midi file and show up when I play the file on my keyboard.

Glad that worked ok for you hopefully Tommy might now try that prog as well it'd be a pity not usiing it for gigging after buying it specifically for that purpose .

Not sure if he has a usb/hdmi port on his one though but thanx for letting us know much appreciated .

Hi Michael i followed your instructions and managed to download ulduzsoft karaoke player my only problem is transfering midi files from my PC using my usb cable i dont know where they are stored on my tablet if they are stored the only way i can transfer a midi file is by e-mailng it to myself and saving it on my tablet indiviidualy cant open a zip file

You could try downloading this

and it should import all your songs over for you automatically if not Michael might have some better advice .
