The the few weeks I had a tablet, one of the things I found difficult was to download files and see where they had gone, but I think you'll find with practice you will get used to it, it's a very long winded process transferring download files to the place you want like a music folder, I think you had to go to downloads hold/select the file copy then go to the place to save it and paste, one file at a time, then go back to downloads again and repeat, a bit of a job. I you put files onto a micro sd card or usb stick from your pc you can import them easier that way or play from that source direct. A programme that does it could be a useful addition, I was watching a few things on utube that tell you about some of those here are a couple of interesting videos. www.youtube.com/watch?v=lScawHhl8kQwww.youtube.com/watch?v=n_lF06g2lB8

Hi Tommy, Barry and Jacqui,
Like Jacqui, I transferred all my midi files (from a memory stick plugged into the pc) to the tablet in one go over a USB cable by just "copying" one folder (containing several subfolders in turn containing about 300 midi files). I then pasted the result into the tablet in one go. I'm not sure where I put the files in the tablet but they finished up in a location called "storage/sdcard0/music".
In the Karaoke Player front page there is a heading called "change your settings". In there you have to "define your collection" and this requires you to add the midi or MP3 files which are now in your tablet. Ideally the files should be in one folder so you only have to do this once. In my case I had to browse until I found the folder in the directory "storage/sdcar0/music". I then named the folder as requested and pressed OK and the files are now available in the Karaoke Player under 'Play a single file" or 'Access your collection" on the front page.
I think it's a case of trial and error until it falls into place. It sounds like you are almost there Tommy at this stage.
Michael

Hi folks,Ole Simmo has been following the progress of the saga/drama's of the new tablet with interest, full credit to all of the members that chipped in to help our very own Jaqui and Tommy to getting close to a resolution for this tricky little problem, the good news is to all of those dedicated members who worked so hard to solve this problem is...................... "OLE SIMMO" IS DEFINITELY NOT GETTING A TABLET !!!! can you just imagine the dozens of emails going to & fro on the forum,it would be nothing short of all out " CHAOS" ,just imagine the Simmo household coping with a drama of this enormity, the ole fella has only just recovered from the long drawn out saga of posting he's pic on the icons ( which for some unknown reason has since dissapeared ) plus I needed almost 3 weeks in rehab after the famous " Sonic Cell " installation & operating drama a couple of years ago which I might add was overseen by the good members of the forum. The Simmo's are back on solid ground for a little while or so I thought... ...Yep you guessed it we have another project under way (you just can't keep these ole buggers down before they go " TROPPO "( Aussie slang for weird ) again,Ok after much pressure from family, friends, clients etc the ole fella is going to make a real live CD, in fact the project is already under way with the ole fella already having recorded the vocals for the 20 tracks which will be on the CD,it has been recording at a local home studio run by a very experienced muso/ recording guru who has top class equipment /facilities etc,I have been back to do some guitar recording & there is still a fair bit to do. The CD will of Industry recording quality so hopefully if all goes well I may be able to offer them to the folks at my gigs & also when I am busking locally ( been today at the local market & it was a good session ) weather sunny, around 32c & heaps of folks around. The whole recording project will be a couple of month project as it is a busy time for this sort of thing.I will keep you updated as it proceeds. Well not much else is happening in the Simmo household other than the normal stuff, forthcoming wedding ( 48 year old & never been married ) plus another grandson due ( unexpected ;D ) Patricia is well ( lost 15 kg & looks a million dollars ) we are still looking at our options for a trip to the UK next year,we will play that one by ear. Well folks this post has almost got to "Simmo's Rambling " proportions so I had better quit while I am ahead. Best wishes to all on the forum. From your mates down-under ' The Simmo's
