Just out of interest where did you guys buy your ipads? Eddie what version is yours? I know Barry's he tells me all his secrets! ;D I was reading some reviews on Amazon and people were saying be careful as a lot of them are refurbished, and the companies don't always tell you, they only found out by going into the settings and seeing something it the operation system codes.

Jacqui Still gotta few secrets you don't know about Yes Amazon as well as everywhere you gotta be careful buying online .Definitely better buying from reputable stores or ones recommended to you . At least that way you'll still have a warranty and an address to return to if any probs arise. Bought my 2 ipads as new one the iPad2 and the backup iPad1 from the link below the reason they are sold below the normal price is because they are Grade A /Grade B meaning minor cosmetic damage/ scratches or scrapes etc.. The only diff I can make out between the 2 ipads is the 1 has no camera and the 2 is much thinner otherwise identical. My 2nd one had a small scratch at the back hidden away but otherwise perfect my first one still can't find what the damage was supposed to be but who am I to question that....lol Nearly a hundred quid of savings on each one I know of 4 people who have bought from them and we all agree we got great deals. So would highly recommend that company . Good Luck Barry www.gadgetsdirect.ie/

I got mine from Santa Claus last December. Ipad 2 . Funnily enough,my wife ,who bought it from John Lewis has started to hog it so i,m buying her one from the same place for her birthday. You get a 2 year gaurantee, i think and price is favourable ( £319 ) I have a black one , she wants a white one, i wouldnt think it makes any difference to reading lyrics. I may buy another one from Barrys link for back up sounds a good idea.

Barry, I 'be just been bought an IPad for my birthday. I followed the links for the program's you said you & your friend use, but it seems there have been problems with Live Trax & although I have Karafun on my laptop, it seems that you need a subscription for the tablet version.

Hi Guys, Just to add to what Barry has already written. I took the plunge as well after seeing how Barry got on and i wish i'd done it earlier. I took most of Barrys advice and the difference is amazing. No more 2 minidisc players, or books of words. Another thing i bought was a small behringer mixing desk with built in effects ( 1002FX )and it sits on a stand which clips on the microphone stand. The only thing i did different was ,i use an app called ONSONG. It only cost around £5 and does all the mp3 playback with words and chords and anything else you want to put on it. So easy to use as well. Hope this helps.

Hi ziggy Well me and another few lads here are all still using Livetrax Pro without any probs....what kind of probs did you hear about? as Eddie says On Song seems to work fine for him I suppose its just a matter of seeing what works best for you I suppose. LTP is that bit more expensive though I'd prefer the scrolling lyrics to be honest but for now Im sticking to this one . Eddie glad its all worked out for you a lot less hassle these days plug in and away you go....always remember to recharge the iPad went out one night and forgot to do it luckily enough I had my back up to help me out I suppose if I plugged in the charger at the gig it prob woulda worked away fine anyway Rgds Barry

I just followed the link you had put on here, Barry, & it shown an apology from the makers of LTP. I think it might have been to do with a later version. I might try the one Eddie uses, it's cheap enough even if I don't like it. Does your friend, subscribe to karafun? Or can you use it as a standalone player on the Ipad?

Ziggy, the ONSONG app is very easy to use, with plenty online tutorials, but if you need any help give us a shout.
