This something I'm really interested in, I actually bought a 10" Tablet recently off Amazon for just this purpose, one of the guys I sing with uses a 7" Tablet just for his lyrics and an Citronic DJ player for the music, I wanted something just for the lyrics, but I found the tablet I bought was not very clear, after reading a bit more about tablets I noticed some of them have different resolution 1280×800 or 1280x600, the one I bought was the 1280x600 and maybe that's why it was not very sharp, it also had some charging problems so I sent it back for a refund, but I'm still after another one, I also wanted something that had HDMI and USB ports which ruled the Apple out at the time, another thing I'm want is the flash support as I'm sure you have to have this for (Don't laugh) watching BBC iplayer and ITV player, I managed to get the BBC but could not get the ITV player, they said it was to do with Flash, I know it was Jelly Bean 4.1. So Tommy Let me know how it is when it turns up this might be good for me, also how good is the sound. and Barry, as you are using yours for both Music and Lyrics, how do you have a song playing with the lyrics and then line up the next song, is everything done in itunes?, can you have different screens open at the same time? Jacqui All your short now is Corrie Emmerdale and Eastenders ha ha Ya not too fussy about the resolution it does me fine as its just for my gigs and lyrics I'll be using it for . Well the good thing about LiveTraxx Pro is you can line up another song while one is playing by just hitting the back arrow it doesent interfere with the actual playing of the song . Yes all the work is done in iTunes but you can pick and choose as you go on and line up whatever song you want while one is playing . The lyrics icon is situated under the song title so its just a matter of clicking it and the lyrics appear. So I usually line up my 2 songs first (unfor only 2 at a time) but if you have your prog set arranged beforehand its easy enough to navigate . You can't do any on the fly editing like moving songs or editing playlists with Live Trax Pro its basically a player for your Library of Songs and in your case maybe the all the soaps as well.. ;D Regards Barry

Barry two out of three ain't bad I think you'll find that the ipad has the best resolution as tablets go, so your ok there. First off how is the sound Barry how do you connect to your mixer/amp, did you notice any difference in quality? and can that programme only be used on an pad ...is it just for Apple or any Tablet with Andriod. I watched the video link but it was all foreign, so it never told me much

Jacqui, I too was wondering about compatability of Livetrax pro with other tablets, so I emailed them. At the moment, it's iPad only.

Hi Jacqui Well first off I make sure that all my songs have the same volume very important so I use MP3Gain. Sound quality is much the same depends of course on your backing trax a crappy file is still gonna sound crappy ;D I take a 1/4" line out from iPad to 2 jacks on my Amp thats it they can be got in Maplins cheap enough. Thanx ziggy... pity that Livetrax Pro and Stageytaxx Pro are for iPad only but daz (Darren) swears by Karafun as a player as it does something similar and its still free as far as I'm aware . If I hear of any more players for Androids I'll let ya know on here . Hi Guys, Just to update you on my progress: I,ve managed to convert all my trax from minidisc to mp3. I tried to use Barry,s method without success,I think maybe because i use an external sound module, it doesnt seem to work for me. Anyway, i had a go with Audacity, and once i got my head around the process i was able to do all my trax pretty quickly. I then synced them to my Ipad. I downloaded an App called "ONSONG " it only costs £5 and more importantly, it,s so easy to use. Its tied up with Itunes so they both marry up very well. It Displays all lyrics and/or chords, which you can download from the internet or put in manually and at the push of one button, it plays the track, displays the lyrics and scrolls down in time. You can make up playlists, sets, or just play from your list of songs. If I can download and use this then anyone can!!

Nice one Eddie Although I read some feedback people complaining about that particular prog it stalling at live gigs have you had any probs like that? I see they do that prog for android as well can't go wrong at that price must check it out myself. Glad you got your conversions sorted with Audacity maybe my way was a bit long winded and confusing but whatever works best for you eh. Good Luck Barry

Thanks Barry, i havent used it "live " yet, but i,ve had it set up in my loft studio and ran through the whole lot (140 songs) of my set with no problem. ( 1 hour at a time) The guy who put me on to ONSONG has used it for over a year with no problem. So heres hoping its ok when i do use it live. But your right it saves a whole lot of gear shifting, 2 minidisc players, 20 minidiscs and an ever expanding folder of words and chords. Cheers for all your input, it really helped.

Eddie As you know I use Livetrax Pro for playing my trax and like yours has the Lyrics function as well not scrolling unfor . Anyway I too heard a few bad things about that prog but have gigged with it now about a dozen times and it works perfect so fingers crossed it stays like that. One thing I would advise when your live gigging and working with ITunes is when adding new songs to your Playlist or making any changes always make sure to unplug form your pc first and verify that they have synced properly . It happened to me a few times (twice) made some changes and synced before I left the house but when I got to my gig and switched on my Ipad my changes and new songs hadn't been added eventhough I saw them on my iPad before I left the house. Just forgot to unplug the thing first and a couple of boxes needed to be ticked to complete the sync. I dread to go to a gig sometime and find I have no songs appear when I switch on so I invested in another 2nd hand iPad as backup you never know I even still bring my MD player with me what am I like . ;D Also no harm in having a 2nd Prog as well like ONSONG etc I'll prob get that as well I'm paranoid about backing myself up been through so many disasters over the years without it. Anyway good luck hope the live gigging goes well for you . Rgds Barry

Hi Barry, I,m a wee bit paranoid about backup as well , so i'm keeping one of my minidisc players wired up and ready just in case. I like your idea of having a spare Ipad, think i,ll look for a second hand one on e-bay. I go on holiday for 2 weeks from Saturday, so i'm taking the ipad with me and double check all is working well. It,ll give me something to do while the wife lies soaking up the sun. I'll have the headphones on, and a beer in hand . Sounds ideal to me .
Thanks again Eddie
