Hi Guys I've been offered a TC Helicon G ,which is a vocal harmonizer which you plug your guitar into and it recognises the guitar chords and adds harmonies. As far as i know it won't work unless you have the guitar in. I think there's one that works with voice only, which i would prefer. Does anyone have any experience with this model.? Any help appreciated Ta Eddie

Thanks Tommy. I'm sure there is one out there that changes as your voice changes. You just set it to 3rd or 5th high low etc. and it does the rest.

I have the TC Helicon Voiceworks and find it better used in note mode via the midi file.Easy to do and fool proof. Try singing the tra la la bit in Brown Eyed Girl and lead in I'll Cry Instead in chord mode as an example and you will hear what I mean. Unless you can master suspended and 13th chords etc you will also hear the difference.

Thanks Frank,i'll have a look at the voiceworks. Eddie Will take a while to master but at the end of the day well worth the effort. There is a demo on the TC Helicon website and software updates, faq's and on line tech assistance. As per most instruction manuals it is written by a Tech not a musco so just work from the midi implementation chart at the back. Should be a few available on Ebay.

I've used a Digitech Vocalist for the last eighteen years, you just play the chords or notes on to a track and save. It's midied into the midi player and you can turn it off or on with a footswitch. There's every kind of harmony you could ever want. The TC Helicon voiceworks sounds interesting. When I got mine it was the best there was around and cost a thousand pounds.I was living near Skegness at the time and I drove up to Grimsby,a two hundred miles round trip, when I got home I found out I needed a footswitch for it,I drove back up and he charged me another seventy pounds for it,I could have killed him LOL. There ia a free studio software available for Voiceworks allows you to programme via a PC instead of using the dials and buttons on the unit. I'm gonna download it and have a go.

How bland is Pretty Woman without the harmony in the bridge !! I dont want to go singing cowboy songs lol. You could also use a cardboard cut out to stand next to you. My 2c worth now I will sit and wait for the flaming lol.
