That is an excellent photo. I like the little table. I see it’s a fold up one so I am curious. Is it your own? I like the idea of having my own tables for stuff like amps because some venues seem to think we’re happy with a few beer creates!! Yes, these work but they can be a bit wobbly...... bit like me at times

Yes, these work but they can be a bit wobbly...... bit like me at times I suspect in India it's a bit like it used to be in East Africa. There's loads of carpenters everywhere, you tell them what you want and they knock it up for you for the next day. Pretty well all our furniture, when we lived in Uganda, was hand made locally. And fine quality too. Shyam's little table looks like that. We seem to have got rid of the little local craftsman along with the arrival of the supermarket and Ikea. Shame. My 2d. as usual, JohnG.

Thanks John for that bit of insight. Here we have carpenters who'd charge and arm and a leg for little one off jobs like this which would make it less feasible. But places like IKEA might have something along these lines. Must check them out next time I am in Dublin.

Hi Pat,
All it is, is a few bits of sawn and planed timber, cut to length and screwed together, with a pin hinge for the leg crossover. I can remember doing this sort of thing in carpentry lessons in my primary school in Molo, in the Kenya highlands.
Of course, you need a pattern to take it from, and then scale it up or down to the size required. It ain't rocket science.
BTW take a look on eBay, I bought quite a nice little "folding card table" from there a while back with the top surface about 2ft x 2ft, standing a little lower than desk height. I can't recall how much I paid, but I think it was less than a tenner. I made a clip on top for it to extend its width to nearer a yard and my mixer and a few sound modules sit on it. It has room for a laptop too in front of the mixer.
All the best. JohnG.

Good advice John. I will have a look on EBay.
You said it's a simple job to make one of these things, well, it might be the case for some people but for me it's another matter. I think "inept" is the word my wife uses when describing my efforts at anything like that ;d

There were several folding card tables going on the UK eBay for just a few quid. i.e. less than a tenner. Some bl**dy expensive ones too. Ouch!
Yea, I know, it depends very much what talents you have been given or acquired when young. Mine are very practical, but my instrument playing leaves a lot to be desired. Understanding and editing MIDI and SysEx stuff is easy. Learning languages really, really tough. Susanne is just the opposite, sings and plays, but can't understand MIDI at all. But she speaks three languages fluently!
I guess that's why we all need each other, eh? All the best, JohnG.
