Hi Guys,
I have been over the years, very often in heated debate, always insisting (as a pianist, organist and keyboard player), that a good knowlege of music theory, keys, chords, chord progressions, and the ability to read sheet music is essential.
To prove the point, there is always the exception! I am sure you will be 'blown away' by the following video of my friend in music, Tommy Johnson, who is over 70, never had a lesson in his life, and who lives in Florida in the US. He uses a Technics 804 Electric Piano, and a Yamaha Tyros 2 Arranger Keyboard.
Stick with the vid, it gets better as Tommys Son and Grand Daughter, keep coming back to urge him to play 'faster'.
Prepare to be amazed. Tommy has several vids on YouTube, if you want to see more just go to YouTube, and search for 'Tommy Johnson'.
