Hi all, just thought I'd say hello...I'm a pro level pianobar entertainer, vocalist & guitarist. Been pro for 25 years. I gig with just piano or guitar and sing but more & more I see people using tracks and just singing. No lugging pa, digital pianos, Les pauls, guitar amps etc so I need to get to grips with midi & tracks. I own a Roland BK-7m module and can strip away unwanted Instruments from SMFs and record to MP3 leaving me a drum & bass backing track with thin piano to give me a cue where I am in the song. However my mix is often easy off and it's either too bassy, to thick drums etc sounds good in my head phones but through a top quality Bose pa it's tertible.....any advice from others doing the same type of stuff for collaboration, exchange of mp3s etc..I do Bowie, eagles, Beatles, Billy Joel, Manilow, rock, etc....

Final mix should not be thru headphones. Set up early at a gig and do the final mix

I agree with Frank, mix the backing track through a decent set of monitor speakers with a flat response, not headphones.
I use an old Roland Discover 5M which powers a Ketron SD2 sound module. I too play the guitar and sing live. I also use a Bose PA system, an L1 system 2 with a B2 bass module and am very pleased with the sound. What mixer do you use on your Bose PA?
