Next time you feel a yawn coming on try this and it will stop it in its tracks.
Just before the yawn, swallow hard and the yawn will disappear.
It has come in handy a few times when talking to people if you are feeling tired and dont want to appear rude by yawning in their face.
PS I think its a health issue.
Best wishes Oliver101

Oliver, if thats true, it'll be really very helpful . I have this habit of yawning at gigs and its not because the audience was boring or I was bored with our songs. I think it is a question of breath. As singing does take the wind out of you, I guess yawning is a natural way of letting in the air. I'll add to this day after tomorrow after my regular Saturday gig. Thank you Oliver............. it is a very useful health tip

Sleep is fine but sometimes excess of sleep or over-sleeping" can cause one to yawn too. !!! Oliver, I tried what you said and yes ...... it does work!! I only need to be conscious about following it . Thanks again for the tip.

Youre welcome Shyam. The yawning tip is about the extent of my medical skills though. Glad to have been of help.

OK, I'll give it a go. I tend to yawn when I'm bored and usually make the old "I'm tired" excuse so hopefully this "cure" will help me, too
