Thanx John thats very useful info... ........one quest why must we also insert xg [/font][/color][/i]msg at the start of the song ? is it just so Yamaha sounds can be read in Cakewalk or some other reason...? Also can you post those again plz gm reset and xg reset dont seem to have them in my ver.........great stuff as always.........thanx Barry

Thanks Barry, Should have said, of course it's not necessary to have the XG reset in the file, and it could be a GS reset instead if you are using Roland kit. It was just showing where it goes relative to the others, but I should have said that. I'll upload the GM, GS and XG syx files to 4 shared and post the link on this thread. You'll need to put them in with the CWPA program files or in a related directory if you've created special ones for them in the customisation options. The XG, or GS resets are there to set things like XG effects routing and other XG (or GS) specific things back to their default values. These aren't reset by the GM system on. So if you are controlling a PSR keyboard or MU sound box from Cakewalk then you can set it up in detail. If anyone needs XG sysex commands made up into Cakewalk Sysx Banks they only have to ask. It takes just a few moments to do them, well ... depending upon the number! JohnG. Great John got them all now in my CW folder. ..........as soon as I get my Yammie back from repair (screen kaput) Ill get back to you about making up xg commands into cakewalk sysx .....as usual much obliged .....regards Barry
