been a long time since I've played with midi. I want to start a Solo Act again after 20 year break and wondering if midi files are still the way to go or is everyone using mp3 now? I have many midi files, used to collect them all but had a hard drive crash and lost a bunch. slowly looking to replace them but hard to find now a days. anyway looking forward to meeting you all and start contributing

Hi Tim and welcome,
I still use midi files as they suit me because I can tinker with the sounds and change instruments. I use them as a solo and also play in two duos using midi files.
Do you sing and play an instrument or just sing? What equipment do you use to play midi's?

Hi Tim, Welcome to the group, great bunch of guys here .
I use midi for the same reasons as Ian. I'm a guitarist / vocalist so take out guitar and change things to suit.
I've tried using some MP3 files but usually use midi.
Any files your short of give us a shout, we're always glad to help
