Hi Barry , many thanks for posting Patricia & myself's pic on the forum, its always interesting to know a little more about the forum members, other interests ,holidays, family, etc, a very good friend popped in & she made the suggestion that as she is a keen photographer to get a couple of pics happening, the picture quality was amazing but does not reflect this on the site. As you can see we really are a couple of oldies but in saying that I thought that Patricia scrubbed up well especially as we are both in our mid seventies with ole Simmo in front by a couple of years. Just got distracted by a a couple of water bombers/Planes going over the house, it is starting to get into bushfire season once again, had several in the last couple of days locally & unfortunately they are being deliberately started by fire bugs ( stupid & dangerous people ).Weather wise its fairly moderate temps around the 30c during the day but cooler at night.
That's it for now...coffee time.

A big Hi to you Mike, many thanks for your kind comments on the Simmo's recent pic of Patricia & myself & yes I am one lucky fella as she is one in a million. In our early years what with both of us being born & brought up in the UK,( Sussex) married in 1961,battled as you did in those early days, (nobody gave you something for nothing,(unlike today's world ).Our first couple of years of married life were in Sussex but then we moved to a place called Glastonbury in Somerset ( Glastonbury music Festival was not around at that time ),lived a normal life, worked at two jobs to pay the bill's ,( no such thing as hire purchase) had two young boys. To us this lifestyle was the way things were at that time so we accepted it without complaint. 1967 & we began to look into what our future held for us & our boys, we had a reasonable lifestyle although very basic, I was running three jobs at this time ( milk delivery in the mornings) (4.am start) plus general labouring & gardening in the afternoons, on top of this I used to serve at the pumps at our local service station 4 nights a week. At that time we were able to save & put a deposit on a very small house which was quite an achievement in those days, ( sorry I forgot to mention that the service station I put time in also were the local undertakers, which meant I got to drive the hearse every so often ). All in all I guess we were happy with our lot. Late 1967 Simmo gets the travel bug & before you know it we have gone through all of the processes involved with emigrating to Australia, paid a pricely sum of ten pounds each for Patricia & myself but the two boys now aged 10 months & a four year old were both free. Now moving forward almost fifty years with another boy who was born within a few of years of our arrival we have a really extended family which includes many grandkids as well. The Simmo's really went forth & multiplied. My interest in music came when I was in my fifties & since then has become a big part of my life( hence my interest in this great site.) Gigged today at a local aged/retirement village/nursing home called( Bethany Waters aged care) it was a good gig. tomorrow I am at a senior gig where the local councils pick the folks up from home in buses & give them a day out plus dinner etc in a hall, this is when I give them some entertainment for an an hour, the travel takes up a bit of time depending how far it is. On Friday I have got one which is only an hour away as well so it' a busy week gig wise. Time for a coffee..7.00pm ps Time difference with UK we are ahead by about 7 or 8 hours

Well that's simply awesome Simmo...I can tell from reading your assorted bits and pieces that music is indeed keeping you active and happy...Well that in itself is a superb thing, because far too many people around me that I know for one bad reason or another completely stop doing what they love and enjoy, and then wonder why so many bad things start to come crashing down, problems from all angles of life begin to rise up and eventually overtake you(Health, finances, overall state of mind)...They all simultaneously start to fade very quickly...All because they allow stress to take a major foothold in your life, and all because they made a critical decision to not do those things they really enjoyed...This is why I can't ever see myself not playing and singing music even as I age into those later years(I'm 49 now)...It's a great stress reliever and really the only thing that I can truly count on(except for close family and friends) to help me immediately feel better and keep those depression demons at bay.
I live on the US east coast,so I'm not certain as to what the time difference would be as well, but in closing I only wish you and your wife/family members the very best...You've had a very busy and productive life, and I would hope that you continue and keep on doing what you know makes you feel the best in your heart, and also gives you the most happiness in life.
Take Care
Mike
