Hi again folks, this is a subject that affects us all where ever you live from the cold of Canada or the unknown in the UK.. we in our part of the world are almost into our summer,( Baldivis Western Australia ) which is December through to March, it seems a long time coming this year probably due to the fact that Patricia & I spent quite a bit of time away from home in the past few months, including England.
Whether its an age thing we both feel the cold these days, even to the point of getting the gas fire into action, I must admit what with our home being of the open plan style it seems to be a very cold house, especially this time of year when the weather has been quite cool even for spring we have had to fire it up.
The temps have been between 18c to 28c but today it actually got to 33c today for the first time since last summer. Our summer officially starts the beginning of December going through to the end of February but it usually still remains very warm even after this period, I can remember many days in March where it has still remained in the high 30's during the day. During our summer we can always expect quite a lot of days where the temp will reach as high as 44c ( around 112 Farenheit in the old terms ) This is where our house gets the benefit being a cold house.
Our water situation is looking a little better this summer what with having a pretty reasonable amount of rain during our winter, however we can still expect water restrictions ( twice a week )owing to the low dam levels. A lot of folks have there own water bore put in which is ok for the garden but not usually drinkable. Our own back & front gardens are fully reticulated off the mains water supply. On our previous half acre property we did have our own bore water supply which was great.
Had a gig today which went well which leaves only one more for this coming Friday a total of three this week. Next week looks a little quieter unless the phone starts to ring.
Our current back yard ( garden ) is looking good after a big purge owing to our recent holidays and with this touch of warmer weather, in fact our fruit trees some which we recently planted & others which we planted when we moved down here in Baldivis around eight years ago & all are looking very promising this year, we have a mixture of everything including, three types of orange trees plus mandarin's, Lime, lemon & a couple of other trees, the lemon tree has fruit on it all year, also our grape vines are now loaded with young bunches hanging every where.
This afternoon as we were coming out of our local shopping centre we noticed that the water bombers ( planes ) were flying overhead heading for a huge cloud of smoke in the sky which indicates a bush fire, it is now coming into our bushfire season where there are a lot of restrictions, unfortunately we still have the problem of fire bugs ( idiots that deliberately light fires in the bush areas ).
I guess I have covered a few subjects away from the music scene just to add a bit of interest to the forum, I believe I used to call them Ole Simmo's ramblings.
Hopefully haven't bored to many members.
regards to all the "Simmo mob".
