Hi Barry Thank you for the warm welcome, I'm sure I'll have a load of questions for you in due course. Main job at the moment is looking after my wife who has Alzheimers but I'm hoping to get some free time for music Regards Spike

A big Hi also Spike, welcome to the forum, great pic as well, that looks like a pretty serious keyboard you have there. Scotland is a place myself & my wife have never visited ,hopefully one of these days we will be able to make it up to your part of the world, in saying that I just realised that my young sister who lives in Sussex has got a daughter as well as some grandchildren / great grandson who have lived in Scotland for many years,they all live in & around a place called Milnathort / Crook of Devon, Kinross, they are all into horses etc. Anyway mate all of the very best to yourself & good lady.
Kind regards... The Simmo's {West Aussie}

Hi Simmo, Weeo and Tommy Thanks guys for the welcome. Kinross is a fair way from me Simmo but a nice part of the country. I have at last found a recent photo of my little music room come den so have changed the avatar. Claim to fame is that I went to school, in the same class, and played guitar with John Lennon before he formed the Quarrymen. Rarely play the guitar now (Westfield) That's enough of me, I'll see if I can upload some midis or links to MP3s for your amusement Regards Spike

You've got some nice boards in your cubby pic there Spike...What's your favorite of all your boards listed? My immediate question to you is which one do you go to first off when you go to write/record as your MAIN keyboard? I personally heard the Motif at the music shop,and was thrilled at the sounds and capabilities,seriously thinking of purchasing a Motif,and want to know how that board works out for you...
I currently own a Fantom as my main workstation/sequencer/sampler,with a Korg Trinity V3 as a secondary piece,mostly playing leads on it and other bits and pieces. Take Care

Hi Mike Quite an easy one to answer really - Although the Tyros is fine for trying melodies out to an auto backing I would be going to the Motif for serious composition. The method of putting songs together using patterns then chaining the patterns together to form a song and then being able to add further tracks for me is a winner. Editing is also very easy and there are some superb soundsets available at very reasonable prices. Second favourite has to be the Korg M3, I make background music for videos and I have the M3 midi'd to the JV1080 or one of the other sound modules for the left hand while playing melody with the JX305 midi'd to another sound module for the right hand. It all comes together through a Behringer 1622 mixer with FX I also have the Karma software so it can all be operated from the PC. I used to have a Fantom G7 but couldn't get on with it. The new Motif XF is marginally better than the old XS but not enough to warrant the price difference IMO. Hope this helps Kind regards Spike
