Hi again folks, I know its good to have fine sunny days for us at this time of year but we really do need the winter rains, our dams are well down which means that in the coming summer we must look forward to more water restrictions once again. Our rains from yesterday were most welcome & went a long way to washing off the ashes from everything due to our spate of recent bushfires in this area. Patricia & I love living down in this area, having a normal size garden after having our big block plus a large shed at the old place which mean't quite a lot of upkeep, Baldivis is a very fast growing area which means we now have the luxury of a recently completed shopping centre plus all of the modern facilities that go with it. In the early days ( around 45 years ago) there was only a dirt track into this area with only the basic services which did not include water ( a water bore was essential) to survive. We even have a freeway from Perth going past, how good is that. Paticia & I were discussing our plans today for what maybe our final trip to the UK, because the numbers of both our family connections in the UK are diminishing as each year goes by plus we ourselves are not getting any younger, we both feel that we should make the effort to catch up with the folks especially after having to cancel last years planned trip, will keep you posted on our progress. An easy week for gigging next week which gives us a chance to catch up with our family/social life etc. Going back over the years & discussing the old times we suddenly realised that during the time we have lived over here in Aussie we have had very few visits from both of our families, on Patricia's side only one single member of her family has ever been over to visit all of the others have showed zero interest in coming over for a holiday. As for myself other than my late parents ( mum & stepfather ) who enjoyed coming out to see us all several times over the years there was also a lack of interest. The amusing part is they would only have to find there airfares as all of the accommodation etc would be free as they would be staying with us all found & treated like royalty in the bargain. Are well it is their loss. OK I have had my bit of a winge Aussie slang for (moan),time to sort a few songs out for my next gig.
Once again, best wishes to all from Simmo
