Has anyone got a copy of Cakewalk 3 (Cakewalk Pro V3) on file anywhere. I am having my granddaughters old laptop, which has (Yippeeeeeeeee!) Windows XP on. I used to have CW3 on my old xp desktop, but I can't find my copy of it, (it was on floppy disk anyway, so I wouldn't be able to load it). Can anyone help? I know that some of you will have other software recommendations, it is, after all something like 20 years old, but I always preferred this for editing, so would like to get a copy, now that I will have a computer that will run it. I think the whole thing is only about 1.5mb. Thanks in advance. Dave

This site seems to have it. cakewalkI'd double check it with a virus checker. There are some pretty specific installation instructions though. Good luck. John.

Thanks, John, that's brilliant. Can't wait to get the XP laptop to try it. It looks like quite a useful site.

Frankie, I don't think I'm going to be much help, I loaded it up & it worked right away. The only possible explanation that I can think of is that I had downloaded it to my Windows 8 laptop, so I put it onto a flash drive & loaded it to the XP laptop from that. Maybe it took the flash drive as being disc 1. I have no other explanation, it just worked. Sorry I can't be more help, Dave

Update: Cakewalk 3 working fine, also managed to install my old copy of Roland VSC, (better guitar sounds for non-XG files. The only problem I'm having is installing Yamaha S-YXG50, which I had working (with Synthfont)on my Win7 laptop. I think I must have cocked it up when I copied it, but unfortunately I haven't got the Win7 laptop now. Any suggestions?

Not 100% ziggy I'm sure John can tell you for sure... but I'd say the Win 7 ver from your laptop wouldn't work on XP anyway if it works at all not too sure?? came across this link you could give it a try anyway www.nodevice.com/download/driver/Yamaha+S-YXG50.html Cheerz Barry

I never thought of that, Barry, (doh!). I tried that link but still couldn't get it to work, but after trawling the net last night, I found one that works, so all systems go, now. Thanks again for your help.
