Hi All I have a few files that are .kar that I've tried to change to .mid, I've tried renaming them but it's not making any difference. Am I missing something here ? I'd Appreciate any help

The programme I use ( cakewalk ) doesn,t recognise .kar files, Tommy

.kar files should open in Cakewalk as Tommy says they're just midis with lyrics if your having probs saving just make sure your saving it as type midi format 1 or 0 not Normal.

Hi Eddie have cakewalk but I use power tracks pro audio to edit but I can still use cakewalk with karaoke files Tommy

I see what you mean,It would not give the option of Cakewalk on right click open.Renamed file to blah blah.mid.Then in cakewalk quick start .....open project...Wallah found it and bobs yer uncle.I think the problem is that it was a soft kar file.Not sure.Sent renamed file back to you.Off for bacon butty now !!

Just discovered if you change "save as" to Midi Format 0 (instead of 1 ) it works.
