Guitar hero Les Paul died today age 94. Apart from being famous for guitar, he also pioneered multi-track recording.

Heard him tonight doing a session on Radio Ulster. He did an amazing version of Glenn Miller's In The Mood. A True Legend and an amazingly humble man.

Totally agree lads. I think some of his early stuff was sensational.........How High the Moon with his wife Mary Ford would rate highly in my top ten list of all time greats........RIP Les Paul.

Sad to hear of the passing of Les Paul ... pioneer of multi-track recording and the solid bodied electric guitar and particularly, the man who gave us his own signature Gibson, God Bless him! Yet he was an unassuming, genial and gentle man. I have video tape of his performance at the Seville Guitar Expo '92 with him perched on a stool and sporting a yellow turtle neck sweater and playing in his customary classic/jazz style and giving a very cool performance. He later shared the same stage with some fairly heavy names in the world of Rock 'n Roll such as Slash from Guns 'n Roses, Brian May, Paul Rodgers and Co. and he was clearly as much at ease and gave an equally cool performance and he was clearly held in high esteem by those other performers. 94 and out ... a great innings, a great performance and a great man ... well played and RIP Les Paul.

I can`t add anything to what has already been said, he was an amazing man that singlehandly raised the bar in our profession to a level that the rest of us have been trying to attain.
Gods choir will now have a new concept now that the `guvnor`has arrived
Rest well Les Paul

Les Paul was an incredible legend of the guitar world, and one of my all-time heroes. When I was 19 I bought my first Gibson Les Paul Deluxe, a copy by Ibanez, but a great guitar all the same, and I had many years of fun playing it. RIP, Les. I can just see you now playing on the great stage in the Sky

He was an amazing artist and entrepeneur.
They should do a movie on his life.
