History folder full of junk mail

Hi Guys

Just wondering if any of you have come across this problem Im having lately. Everytime I logon my history page is full of ads/junk mail of sites Ive never visited I might add ... I have it set to clear after each visit so it should be empty each time I logon. I suspect it could be some sort of Malware/Virus but have done numerous clean ups with diff progs but still no joy my AV is up to date any suggestions would be more than welcome esp, at this time of year and all the junk/spam that's out there. It seems that my email junk page has shifted to my history folder if that makes sense .

Thanx frank I'll give that a try tried the Norton Power Eraser last time but found that it deleted a lot of unnecessary files so gotta be careful what I use this time . I'll let ya know how it goes anyway
