Well, slightly off topic, but I bought a Lidl special the other day, and had it for lunch on Sunday with home made mash and some veg. Traditional British Steak and Ale pie. It was really good, especially when you consider the price was just 2.49 for 540gm. A reasonable amount of steak with no gristle or fat and a good taste. The pastry was good too. I didn't do what it said on the box, i.e. cook from frozen, I never do, they never seem to cook properly for me. Defrost in the fridge overnight and reduce the cooking time a little. Most enjoyable. So much so that I went back this morning and bought two more for another day. Looking forward now to their chicken leak and bacon pie. Disclaimer: I have nothing to do with Lidl or any of its subsidiaries. It doesn't quite answer your question tho' Tommy, I'll give that some thought. Kind regards, JohnG.

I love tatties and mince as well Tommy, but I'd swap the Brussels for a Mealy pudding . Not my favourite though, that would be a Madras curry.

Don't mind a curry now and then but I'd rather have a fish supper

Ah now! Fish and chips. When properly done it has to be up among my favourites. But with mushy peas, or baked beans, or something else?
A good curry is also high on my list. Although I can't handle a Madras any more ... reflux.

Hi Jacqui,
Nope! They're still sitting in the freezer, promise! I made a curry today, all fresh ingredients except for the paste, not too hot, I can't take the hot ones any more. Reflux. The next one to try is their chicken, leek and bacon pie, maybe next weekend.
Time for another cuppa!
Kind regards, JohnG.
