R.I.P. Jack.
My first memory of him was at a Bluesbreakers' gig at the youth club I used to go to way back in 1965. Clapton featured on guitar, of course. Really nice guys. We helped the roadies put John's Hammond on the stage. Never met again, naturally. They went on to fame and fortune with Cream.
Great blues bass player.
Eric came from Ripley, and the Arbor Youth Club in Pyrford, where I lived at the time, was the neighbouring village. Pyrford Common was where the Martians landed in H.G.Wells' War of the Worlds. I think it's now a golf course!
