I believe it's very good for solo performers and amplifying acoustic performers, but lacks the punch needed for rock 'n roll. Just hearsay though, not personal experience. Any use? JohnG.

I heard from a friend working with BOSE that they give demos, so I'll be requesting for a couple of them, if they agree to that. Asingle bass bin set up costs around Rs.1,40,000/- so I'll need to be doubly sure before I think of buying one. I have one venue (kinda open air but there is a tin sheet top covering) Its a place where we can up our volumes, so thats one check venue. The other is a Club where we play to a lunch crowd of around 400 members spread around the lawn. They are mainly senior citizens who love to listen to old standards, Frank Sinatra , Nat King Cole, Dean Martin etc and it would be interesting to see how this performs in a venue where clarity and reach is more important than volume. I'll keep you posted if and when this happens. For your information, I use 2 dB Powered tops and a Sub Woofer (Band Pass type) for the Club and have had some complaints of being too loud.

I know a couple of local acts using these and when i thought about buying a set i went and heard them and asked the guys what they thought. The solo performer liked it ,but had to buy 2 poles because,he said, when they're used behind you,you can't hear what's going out in front .So he uses them in front of him.(one at each side) and obviously they're very portable and easy to handle/set up. The 4 piece band used them for a few weeks and sold them, because (as JohnG suggested) they don't have the bottom end you get from conventional bass bins and tops. They were using 3 poles and bins. From out front i had to agree with them. hope this is of some use Shyam . Regards Eddie

Hi Shyam, I have checked with my friend that works in a local music shop and he confirms what john and weeo have said they are excellent [apparently]for accoustic work but lack the drive and punch for livelier music so be very careful before you buy Hope this is off some help to you think carefully
