Hopefully some one may be able to shine some light on this situation which has not occurred with me before.
I found a midi site late yesterday to which I posted the link to the forum, but when I am transferring the files into my Roland Discover 5M module, they are all playing at about a third of the normal speed, and even when I try to increase the tempo of the tracks I still cant get the track up to speed.
I have never had this before with any files, and I have loaded some other files from other sites into my machine and they seem ok. Is it just the files from this site?
They play at the right speed in the Vanbasco player though.
I'm confused.

Hi Ian, I downloaded a few from the site,I played them on Cakewalk,my Tecnics keyboard and my Roland SD 35 with no problems at all.Maybe it's some setting you have on your Roland. Geordie

Ian,
I would agree with Geordie...I d/l'd a couple files from that site and all of them(for me using cakewalk) was at the proper tempo...Double check your settings with the roland module.
Take Care

It may be due to the conversion, you may have to play the file into your Roland and save.I had the same problems with some files converting from SMS to Kawai SNG files.Maybe try re writing the tempo command.

Sorry for the delay in replying to you all. I sussed the problem in the end. The PC I use for uploading midi files runs on Windows XP, and I think that may have been the problem. I used my Wifes laptop to upload the files and it worked OK. The laptop is on a more modern operating system.
I guess now that Windows no longer supports XP, this is going to cause loads of little issues similar to this.
Frank, did you ever get to the bottom of the reason that your files didn't work?

Ian It was in the conversion progamme I managed to find a pirated programme that would accept all tempo tracks.
