Hi All Not sure if this is the right section, so I will put it in the technical section too. Just wondering if anyone uses spreadsheets, I have songs listed in a spreadsheet format, say I have 100 songs listed and I want to select 20 from the list and print them, is there a way of doing that. There is not a filter I can select say Genre or Artist, I just want to select a random 20, separate them from the others and print them on their own. Any Ideas Jacqui

maybe I'm missing the point here...but can you not create a new folder...transfer the songs you want to print into it...select all and then print?......maybe thats not what you mean! Kev

Jacqui I haven't done it for a while, but try holding down your control key and highlighting the selections you require, then (you can release the ctrl key now), go file, print - halfway down the left side of your printing dialogue box, you should have the option (something similar to) - print all, print current page, print selection. YOu need to choose print selection - see if that works for you. regards Warren

I Have both Access and Excel. What it is, when I do my Care Homes during the day, quite often I am there once a month so I like to do different songs, I always write a list in the evening after the booking, but I have a whole list of my music in Spreadsheets, so I thought if i could just select the song I had done that day I could print them off, also when I want a new programmer I could select ones I had not done a ndsing them, hope that all makes sence I'll try your ideas tonight when I get back from my booking, see how it works, and let you know. Not sure what you are saying there kev, maybe explain more, I'm not reallly that up on spreadsheets Thanks Jacqui

I've trying doing the Ctrl & copy in Access, but can't get anything to work, only one song at a time. Tried your idea Warren, but when I try print selection each song comes up as a seperate page, ie: 20 songs on 20 pages Jacqui

Over the weekend Jacqui, I will design a spreadsheet for you, which you can filter and alter as you like.
Should do the job

Whilst Geraint gets on with the job - A quick workaround Jacqui, for the interim - follow my suggestions regarding the selection of non-contiguous cells, but instead of printing.....
Copy the highlighted selection (Ctrl +C) Open a new worksheet/spreadsheet Paste (Ctrl + V)
they should now be placed into 1 continuous list, then you can print.
That help at all?

Hi Guys I've checked which version I have it's Microsoft office Excel 2003. I have managed to highlight lines then copy & paste to a new spreadsheet, Warren mentioned Auto Filter in another part of the forum I posted, I'd be interested to know how that works, so far all I can find is how to hide a column, say info I don't really need to copy to a new spreadsheet like key and artist, strangely enough when I hide a column, then copy to and paste to a new sheet, the hidden columns are on show again. Thanks for your offer Geraint, I look forward to that. Jacqui

Jacqui Probably the best way is to show you a video example. Try this one out:) . If it's taking too long to load - here's the direct link Auto Filter. I hope this helps. regards Warren
