I guess you are aware of the viral posts on the internet about the "dam buster" hero that died without any family to attend his funeral.This was my uncle that Bri checked up on for me a few years ago.He was in a nursing home that had my email details and my uncle had letters and photo's I sent him.I was not aware of his death until I saw it on facebook 16 days after he died.Nursing home did not contact me.
His funeral was seen all over the world,he was a humble man and lived most of his life out of a back pack and suitcase.He would turn up on your door step at any time.
The nursing home used his death as a publicity exercise and released his photo and war history to the media.I have had the BBC contact me and I have given them the full story.
