If anyone uses Creative Media Source to record into their PC and have ever had the message Recording process was aborted displayed when they pressed the record button, I have finally found the answer after many, many, days, hours, and lots of hair pulling in the past, I hit on the solution by sheer fluke, if you never had the problem, you are lucky, if you have and still do at various times, I can help. The solution may be pretty simple as it was in my case...but took awhile to figure out. My pc, decided on it's own to switch the destination folder for the recordings to a folder that doesn't exist...heh, heh, heh...happy new year!.............So, if you get the "recording process aborted" message, in your Creative media player, check your destination folder under......Player - record settings. Also go to.....Tools - settings - pc music library - properties...and make sure it's the same folder. Hope that does the trick.....and a joyful New Year to you all.

Solution found!!! The problem seems to have been a Windows update which turned off my Microphone Privacy settings. This is found in Sound Settings/Related Settings. Credit to Zardoz on the Audacity forum. The full solution is in Zardoz's post. I will put a link here. I hope that is ok with this site's moderators? forum.audacityteam.org/t/9999-unanticipated-host-error-solved/63538Martin
