3GA files Phone

I have some voice recordings on my Samsung phone they have 3ga as the extention, I want to put them on my pc as mp3 files, I see converters online, but you have to download software, a bit wary of that as it always seems to download stuff you don't want, is there any other way of converting them, I saw a thing on utube said to change the file extention to MP3 but it never worked on my pc, any ideas?
