Lets hope that England dont let the boys from down under off the hook in this test match, like they did in Cardiff. Freddie has a point to prove now that he has announced that this is his last test series. KP has to start behaving like a team player, Cook ( who lives 2 doors away from my wifes Aunt ) needs a big score, the bowling attack needs some bite and variety, then maybe we can scrape another draw.
For once I am not optimistic. Lets see in 5 days time.
Any views from the guys and gals down under.

Well end of day 1 and i`m afraid despite the captains innings it would appear that the old preverbial egg in the face jokes are about to happen again. It seems that the top order can`t wait to get in to get out lol it`s the same old thing i`m afraid bowl a ball up in a channel and sooner or later the batsman is going to attempt a shot thats just not there and now it`s into the bottom order now it does look like the 75 year losing streak for England against the green baggie hats at Lords is about to carry on, hope it turns into a cracking game.
weegeo-------------- in the corner waiting to be called into rescue England lol lol lol

I am a huge cricket fan, and, surprisingly for an Irishman, I actually support England - this is the only sport I ever want to see England win at Now I love the Ireland team too, but at this level I am an England fan, always have been, 'cept when they play Ireland, then it's Ireland all the way. I am watching the match at Lords; I got in Sky sports especially, so hopefully England does the good.

Thats right Pat 75 to be exact and it looks like the game is over at last, 521 would be the largest 2nd innings score since 1896 [not that i saw that game lol] Just have to say this though in the interest of fair play the first 2 wickets to fall today most certainly were`nt out very bad umpiring there, the 1st 1 was clearly a no ball and the second the ball had grounded before Strauss got his fingers round the ball but these are the decisions that win matches i suppose lol lol lol
Just a word of warning it doesn`t pay to anger the Aussies at this game

Excuse me for not sharing the viewpoint that this match is a foregone conclusion as I have just seen the close of play scores and it seems that Australia only need 205 runs with five wickets still in hand and a whole day to get them. Seems possible to me Bigmike

That's the the beauty of Cricket, no matter how sure the outcome it can change ;d Yes, it looks like this will go down to the wire but England will be hopeful the rhythm of the Aussies will be broken and they'll finish off the middle order [and then the tail end] in quick succession. I agree with George regarding the bad umpiring: should have went to Specsavers ;d On a more positive note history will be made today; either England will win for the first time in 75 years, or the Aussies will win after their biggest chase ever. I just wonder if there'll be anything left of my fingers after this one, I'll need them for my tea

Yes, a great, well-deserved win by England. In the end the Aussies fell rather quickly, but then again Flintoff was really on fire. What an incredible genius that man is and will be sore missed in future test matches. A wonderful team effort but one man stands right out

Hats off to Freddie - he fired up alright If Mitchell Johnson hits his stride, then we'll have a game on (especially if Lee is fit as well) Warren.
