Download them as a midi Tommy and use Switch to convert them to MP3. This way you can edit them before you record them.........Gerry

Tommy I presume you mean the mp3 backing tracks right ? if so they're hit and miss like the free midi sites you'd have to really search hard to find them and they're really aren't that many free ones anyway . You could also try requesting the b tracks your looking for here on Midi/Mp3 Requests you never know what members might have stashed away on their hard drives. You could also try Googling the song your looking for e.g. "Pretty Woman " karaoke or instrumental and you never know what you might find. You might come across probs getting songs in your chosen key and transposing them can lead to all sorts of distortions that's why midis are mostly preferred as well as its other editing possibilities. I personally use both converted midis and mp3s . I get a lot of my Mp3s on Spotify costs about $4.95 a month but there's the world of backing tracks on there and very high quality most of the time they also offer a 30 day free trial no harm in checking them out. Only drawback is you can't download as such but there's ways around that as well. www.spotify.com/ie/freetrial/ITunes also have lots of backing tracks costs on average about 99c Karaoke Version is another although not free site but also have some excellent tracks. Ameriz also have some decent stuff and they often have offers some as low as 23c a song . www.karaoke-version.com/www.ameritz.co.uk/ Best of luck in your search Rgds Barry

Hi Tommy,
To be honest the sound of mp3 karaoke tracks can be pretty good these days. There are a few dodgy ones whose tracks are sometimes not well implemented but I don't keep a list of them. Barry's advice about a couple of good producers I'd concur with.
My recently acquired knowledge about commercial mp3s tells me to go to Amazon, then the "mp3 music" section and enter "karaoke" followed by the title. Or even "ameritz" and the title. You'll likely get hundreds of hits. With "1 click" ordering set up, you can purchase them very easily and they're put in an Amazon Cloud Player. You can then download and install Amazon's mp3 download utility. That'll put the files in "my documents" / "my music" folder.
I found the process very easy to implement.
Amazon has its own little player which will allow you to listen to a section of the song of as many versions as you like, until you find one to suit you. The extra bonus is that the titles seem to be cheaper than buying directly from the producer. Often around 99p as against 1.50.
The last one I downloaded via Amazon from Ameritz was at 256 kbps playback, which is a very high standard IMO.
You should have no fear of using something like that, provided that the rest of the playback electronics is up to standard.
As usual ... just my 2d worth! Have fun, JohnG.
