Hi Folks, re the latest pic on Ole Simmo doing a bit of busking at the local sunday market this morning,I think that there was a bit of shifty stuff going on as our daughter paid an unexpected visit to the local Rotary Sunday market & took a sneaky pic of ole Simmo strutting he's stuff, she then collaborated with missus Simmo to stick it on the site, "is nothing sacred" ??, however I did manage to shift quite a few Cd's during the morning, which weather wise was perfect for this time of year, sunny & a max of 24C. ...Simmo looking for a back-up plan. Ps, had a call from the local newspaper wanting to do a bit of a story on this strange ole fella who at the age of 73 years old has decided that he wants to be a pop idol for the over eighties age group, will keep you posted .........Simmo......

Hi Weegeo mate, you nearly got it right, should be Coolibar Tree where incidently is where the Kookaburra (Aussie native bird ) sits up on a branch making one hell of a din as he watches the Jolly Swagman ( Aussie Hobo ) put that Jumbuck ( Sheep ) into his Tuckerbag (Sack/pack ) all of this is taking place alongside the Billabong ( a watering hole for livestock etc ) I hope this gives you a better Idea of our language.....Simmo ;D Billy = tin for cooking and boiling water.

These are the words I remember singing it as a lad, years ago.
Waltzing Matilda. Once a jolly swagman sat beside the billabong, Under the shade of a coulibah tree, And he sang as he sat and waited till his billy boiled:
Chorus: Who'll come a waltzing matilda with me Waltzing matilda, waltzing matilda Who'll come a waltzing matilda with me And he sang as he sat and waited by the billabong Who'll come a waltzing matilda with me.
2. Down came a jumbuck to drink at the billabong Up jumped the swagman and grabbed him with glee And he sang as he tucked the jumbuck in his tuckerbag
Chorus: You'll come a waltzing matilda with me Waltzing matilda, waltzing matilda You'll come a waltzing matilda with me And he sang as he tucked the jumbuck in his tuckerbag You'll come a waltzing matilda with me.
3. Down came the stockman, riding on his thoroughbred, Down came the troopers, one, two, three. "Where's that jolly jumbuck? You've got it in your tuckerbag?
Chorus: You'll come a waltzing matilda with me Waltzing matilda, waltzing matilda You'll come a waltzing matilda with me Where's that jolly jumbuck you've got in your tuckerbag? You'll come a waltzing matilda with me.
4. Up jumped the swagman and plunged into the billabong, "You'll never catch me alive," cried he Slowly: And his ghost may be heard as you ride beside the billabong,
Chorus: Who'll come a waltzing matilda with me Waltzing matilda, waltzing matilda Who'll come a waltzing matilda with me And his ghost may be heard as you ride beside the billabong, Who'll come a waltzing matilda with me.
I'm sure Terry knows!
Regards, JohnG.
