Hi Everyone I've decided to get a new Duo going with a good guitar playing friend, Dominic and I'm quite excited about the music we'll be playing. After the disbanding of my band,I had originally thought of playing guitar with the midi files and accompaniment tracks but that wasnt to be with my numbness of fingers etc. It will definitely sound more "LIVE" with a guitarist playing along and it excites me to think of all the Rock n Roll songs and medleys we can 'belt out ' together ! With my earlier partner,it was actually a duo of two solo artistes performing together. He'd sing to his midi files and I d sing to mine. Though I would always fill in when he was singing, he'd never support me. His repertoire was very restricted and he never learnt any new songs. Actually, I am surpirsed I tolerated him for these two years. There was nothing exciting about playing with him and there were no common interests too - no comraderie, no lighter moments, just performing like robots. I have christened our new Duo as "WINDMILL" An Energy producer !!! A pic of the logo is put up here for your opinion and I'm sure you guys will wish us well. Any suggestions and advice on how we should co ordinate and perform as a Guitarist/Keyboard'ist' Duo, will be appreciated. Yes, both of us sing and though our lists of songs have many common songs, we have agreed to "give and take" a few in the best interests of putting up a good show.

Good luck Shyam, Im sure you'll be great.
I have a similar problem with a duo I'm in. I own all the equipment, I do all the rehearsal, he comes aqlong and plugs in a mike, and sings one or two songs, and is the "comedian".
He has got to go.
Have fun Shyam, and I love the logo

Hi Shyam
I wish you well.Love the Logo. I myself was in a duo back in the 80's and early 90's .We were a great team. We liked similar music and were always adding new songs to our repetoire.neither of us had big egos so we gelled well even down to daft jokes we shared with the audience. We were know as Two's Company and occasionally a friend would join us on Lead guitar we then became "Threes a Crowd" He had the bulk of the equipment so i always helped him set up and take it all down at the end of the night.Great times and memories. I hope you have great fun.
Regards Mark

Good Luck from me too Shyam, I'm sure you'll knock em' dead. Great logo - did you design it yourself?
You ask for advice. Having spent the last seven years working solo in Cyprus the thing I miss most is other musos to bounce off and interact with. So I would say make the very most of combining your talents - sing harmonies, where appropriate, to each other's vocals, compliment one another's solos etc. I'm sure you and your new partner will have a great time getting to know each other musically and socially. Most of all enjoy your music.
All the best.
Roger

Definatley Shyam! I played with a guitarist/singer for years and I miss him a lot. I have more money at the end of the night but I would play for less to have him or someone like him with me especially in the clubs. It can be a long night on your own..........Anyway enjoy your venture.............Gerry

Hi Shyam I wish you lots of success with you new venture, I really hope it all works out for you both, I love the Name and Logo and the idea behind it. I think being with someone on stage you enjoy playing & working with and can interact with is one of the key secrets to a successful act. The audience can defiantly pick up bad vibes from you, but the good vibes is what makes people enjoy what you do, if you are having fun, they will too. Best of Luck Jacqui

I too reckon the logo is tops!! I don't think it'd matter who you teamed up with Shyam, the music would be good (and your voice would carry them if necessary) regards Warren

Hi Shyam, It sounds to me that you made the right move and as everyone else says, if you enjoy it your audience will too! I am also in a duo, but we both pull our weight with coming up new songs almost every other week. As far as the night is concerned, we always alternate with the songs. This not only gives the other one a breather, but also we have contrasting voices, so it mixes it up a bit. And we have been playing together for almost TWENTY FOUR years and have never fallen out once !! Just keep it up and enjoy. Love the logo by the way.
BTW our band name is "Fly on the Wall"

Hi guys, we had a "work out" for about 4 hours today, just putting our songs together and checking out the keys , tempos etc. I needed to pull out the guitar parts so he can fill in with his live playing and it was great fun. We knew a lot of songs in common so we worked out the "sharing" We needed about 50 to 60 songs for the gig this Saturday and we landed up with a list of 193 songs !!!!!! Exciting !! We're working on doing as many songs using the keyboard accompaniment styles to kinda "play live" . Sounds like we're going to have fun.
