Making a midi file

Hi Guys.
I'm on again looking for some help. I just bought a Tyros 1, so i'm just getting aquainted with it. Bear in mind I'm not a keyboard player and just making tracks with the autoaccompaniments.
First impressions are good, some of the Auto accompaniments are very good.
Question i have is. How do you make a midifile and get it on to Cakewalk ?. Can you put a whole song on to cakewalk?
Is it just as simple as putting a midi lead from keyboard to PC or is there something else involved in the process?
As always i 'd appreciate any help.

Hi Eddie

Your best bet is to go to PSR Tutorial Forum register free and you'll find all the info you want there and the guys are all very helpful over there as well. They helped me out many times when I started but if you look through the posts you'll prob find what you need to know.

There's a bit to setting it up and I can try and help you as much as I can as well ....do you have the drivers (disk) for your kb you'll need to install that first then you'll need to download the inst def list for Cakewalk to recognise your Tyros and play its sounds.

Once you have them downloaded and your leads setup thats a good starting point...

I thought that there was more to it than just plugging in a midi lead. I'll download the drivers etc. and we'll see how far i get.
