I'm in bits today I had to have my dear little West Highland Terrier called Paddy put to sleep last night at the vets, he was almost thirteen and was very unwell over the last year, it's one of the hardest things I've had to do. I will miss him dearly he was not just my dog but my friend too, and I loved him to bits, he was like a shadow always by my side. anyone who has dogs will know how it is and how I'm feeling, they become one of the family. not just a pet. and I will miss him dearly. RIP My Dear little friend Paddy Jacqui

Sorry to hear about Paddy. As a dogowner, I kind of know what you are going through. Give it time and it will get better. He is in a better place.

Dear Jacqui, So sorry to be so late answering this, kinda haven't been around for a while. I'll be writing to you shortly, expect an email today answering yours. My dear old Welsh border collie Abi passed away last year too. Sweet dear creature. I understand your pain. Dan Kury, someone I admire greatly, wrote a tune for his departed Schnauzer, Sparky, called Transitions in Life. You can find it here in mp3 format. dankury.com/midi_music.html. The site is interesting in another way too. It shows just what can be done using MIDI and modern virtual instruments. All the music (I think) on this page is created using VSTi's . Some is staggeringly good. All the best, John.

Yes at the moment so many things on a daily basis remind me of my Paddy, silly things like making sure the dustbag for the refuge collectors is our of his reach or he'd have had the whole lot out on the kitchen floor, coming down to the kitchen in the morning and he's not out of his bed to say hello, and that walk on my own round the block is a real killer. It's nice to know there are some dog lovers here too, you know how it feels to lose not only a pet but a friend too. Lets hope all our dogs Abi Sheba & Paddy are having fun in Dog heaven, wonder who washes the muddy paws!

Jacqui
I know how you feel. I live in the country and three years ago my good friend Jet, a pet of 14years completely dissapeared. She had been going downhill for a while, but the dissapearance was baffling. I nelieve that dogs know when their time has come, and, in thd wild, go off to die alone. Be greayful that you wete with your pet. I have since got a Bichon...great pet, and no shedding. She is again part of the family.
