WOW!!! John You must Have a gripp like a gorrilla ;D ;D ;D I tried 10-46 on the Gretsch but they just didn't feel right, I'd say it's because the 6120 has a shorter scale neck. You get used to the heavier gauge very quickly, in fact now I find it hard to play a guitar with lighter gauge strings! ;D

I use Martin SP's on my Martin Guitar, but I have to say I used to use the Elixer, the best strings ever. They just dont suit the Martin guitar though, I reluctantly reverted to Martin SP's only for mine.
One point to note on the elixer, the plastic coating does wear off after approx six months or regular use and they become dull with dead fingertip skin getting caught in the stings. So your well advised to change every six months at lease with these strings. Better then my martin which I have to change every 3 months.

Hi Tradman
In what way dont the elixer strings suit the Martin. I will keep an eye on the coating wearing off as mine are coming up to 6 months now. I suppose they are played for between 4-6 hours a week. I dont know if that equates to 6 months usage or not. How many hours do your 3 months usage equate to?
Regards Ian

Hi Oliver, merry Christmas to you & the family,Ole Simmo's just found a few minutes spare to scroll back through a few of the old posts etc.i was away at the time but i am interested in your comments on the guitar strings you use with your Sheriton guitar,i think i mentioned in a earlier post that i had picked a similar model myself (1994) made in Korea but until now it has been sitting in its case but the new years resolution is to get it out & use it,you gave a pretty good rap!!! on the ellixor??? strings,i was wondering what gauge you use, many thanks Terry

Hi Terry I hope you had a lovely Christmas down under, did you make it to the beach for Christmas day? Oh yeh the strings, I use 010 - 046 strings on the Sheraton, I have recently put the same Elixir strings on my other guitar as well. Give them a try Terry, mine are still going strong after 8 months now, but I always wipe them down after each session. Best wishes to your family as well.
