Eddiie (weeo) had some really useful advice for all of us, It would be useful to know what we should ask for when we visit the doctors. Is the proceedure a long process and how uncomfortable is this ? Does it cost a lot ? Any information will be most welcome and I'm sure our members will think about the advice. Thanks Eddie .

Hi Shyam, i've answered most of your queries on the other thread. Its part of a bowel screening programme, done by the NHS. It's a home kit and not uncomfortable at all THe kit consists of three sticks ( similar to ice lolly sticks) you put a small sample of your stool on each stick, seal up the envelope and send it away. It's as simple as that. It costs nothing in Scotland but i dont know the costs elsewhere. hope this helps Shyam, anything i've missed just give me a shout and i'll try to help Regards Eddie

Thanks Eddie, but I havent heard of that in our part of the world , so I guess I'll need to go for a proper check up for this.

Annual blood tests for Prostrate cancer. Colon Cancer screening every 2nd year.Flu vacine every year and Pneumonia vacine every 5 years all on doctors bring up file. I think out of all the countries I have lived Australia has the best health system.Doctors even do house calls. All payed out of taxation.
