It was, maybe, the tougest decision in my life. A decision , I knew, could never ever be reversed !!! I had ALL my teeth removed , in one shot, last Thursday evening and the Dentist had to fight with drill machines, files, pliers etc etc, to get all the root canal wires, bridges etc loosened. With all that anesthesia, I didnt feel a thing, though I heard all the scary sounds. The proceedure took an hour and a half and I have a new set of teeth put in immediately. The rawness and pain show up when the pain killers lose their efficacy, but the strange feeling of my tongue feeling alien synthetic palate, is really CRAZY ! Cant chew a thing ..... just drink liquidy oats, rice gruel , mango fool. juices and ice cream !! Well, right or wrong I made the decision and looking at the positives , I have a perfect set of teeth I can wash my teeth with soap and water I can keep them in my lap an clean them When I can chew, nothing will get in between my teeth I can laugh out, opening my mouth wide open and I wont be embarrassed if the videographer puts his camera down my throat, like they do at most concerts. I will never ever have foul smellng breath (I dont think I ever had that, though ) and ........... I think I can still SING (MAYBE WITH A sCOTTISH ACCENT !!!!) AND .... AND .... I CAN and WILL BITE you with al 28 of my brand new teeth if you make fun of me .. Pooooooh ooooooooooooooooh (I cant whistle !!!!)

Can you believe it guys ? I actually found the guts to sing in public, last Saturday !!! No one seemed to have noticed anything amiss ! Sweet Caroline had me in a spot of trouble thrice ....... had my top dentures slipping off whe I sand " and I feel INCLINED " I quickly "manouvered" it in and continued !! Gosh, I wonder if I should have ever gone in for all this, but I'm feeling good, knowing that I can still sing. I need to perfect some new techniques !!! As Pat Boone sang , all you need is Technique" .. LOL ! (ooooh I forgot I cant laugh out loud !!)

Hi Shyam, Well glad you are making some sounds with your new teeth, I'm a bit surprised you had them fitted straight after extraction as I know someone who had to wait a few months while his settled before having a denture fitted, I think that may be because of the swelling involved, and any infection , obviously once the gums settle that would make a difference to how they fit. so if you may find you'll need them relined to make them fit tightly and correctly, might be worth checking, you don't want them flying onto anybody's plate while you belt out a tune now do you.
