while in conversation with Shyam the subject of copyright came up he told me in India before being paid for a gig they reduct so much from you for copyright i know when i was secretary of a social club quite a few years ago we had to pay a fee to the Perfoming Rights Society if you had music in your club which covered copyrights it was never taken out of the Bands money just wondered how it works in other parts of the world

In New Zealand it is all covered by the venue.

In Spain they have to have a licence and also for the radio.When I played in Northern Ireland most club paid for a copyright licence for live music and for the radio. Geordie
