Hi Guys I had to share this with you. I was staying in Edmonton Saturday. My wife and I decided to go for a stroll downtown for a bar of chocolate. We walked into Sobeys (A well known Supermarket here) and in the corner of the coffee shop and Bistro was a 3 piece Jazz band, Electric piano,Drummer and Saxophonist. They were phenominal. Apparently threy have live music every Friday and Saturdays from 5pm till 9pm. Possibly some of you guys should contact your local Tescos or sainsburys and suggest it. The atmosphere in the store was really good.
Regards
Mark

Hi Mark, The only time I've seen live music in a retail setting in the UK was in Marks & Spencer in Nottingham and it only seems to be for a few days before Christmas. Maybe there's a great untapped source of work out there.

My Father plays in a Salvation Army Band , and for the 3 saturdays before christmas the local Morrisons have the band between 10am and mid day. It creates a wonderful vibe in the run-up according to the shoppers. I have never heard of any other 'live' music being done though in supermarkets. Lets see how the rest of the world get on.

Your all behind the times gents... Over in Ireland here you will see live bands playing on a regular basis in the shopping centres.

I'm more surprised at Sobey's in Edmonton - I thought they were only found in Ontario and points east. :-)

We have that here too, in a few shopping malls, but its not a real LIVE band, but keyboard accompaniment backed solo performers or duos.
