Hi Tommy, thanks for weather update in bonnie Scotland, over in our part of the world we are just about to start our winter season, for the last couple of weeks it has been fine & sunny with clear skies with day temps around 24c which is not warm enough to shed the sweaters & jeans but we are getting unusually cold nights getting down to...would you believe.. 3c... which has put the Simmo's into panic mode trying to find extra blankets etc, the house being of open plan design is as cold as an igloo in the winter but the upside is its cool in our summer, while doing my busking last sunday i even put a heavy jacket on as well for the first couple of hours,Mrs Simmo does'nt feel the cold quite as much as me in fact even after living out here for around 44 years she is not a big fan of our long hot summers,i may have mentioned before in a previous post about our first house on arriving in W Aussie in Feb 1968 ( mid summer) with two young ankle biters (kids) , it was a very small brick & tile home on a quarter acre block surrounded by nothing but white sand & situated way out of town,no luxuries like air-con..ceiling fans etc & i remember when the temps used get up around the century during the day we would put the young- uns at bedtime in the coolest part of the house which was the bathroom to sleep, when our Daughter arrived we would place the crib into the empty bath which was also a cool spot, but it did the trick when it came to settling her down. The only trouble with double brick & tile homes in the early days of no ducted air-con is that during our long hot summers the bricks get extremely hot during the day & even up to around midnight the house walls retain the heat which of course means houses like hot boxes. As the money situation improved we invested in a couple of decent fans which only really circulated the hot air but at least it was an improvement. Hang-on a minute folks this post is fast turning into a full blown "Simmo Rambling" without me even realising it, i think i had better quit while i'm ahead, trouble is once i get going the ole brain kicks into overdrive...i think perhaps i need to go & have a glass of water & a lay down, any way folks just another bit of useless information for the forum to digest,so until next time...... Best wishes to all ....Simmo....being assisted to the bedroom by the good lady herself ;D
