Hi guys i must have about 500 posts under my belt on this forum but i have never used add tags (don't know how) excuse my ignorance but could some please explain how it works Tommy

Hi Tommy,
Tags are useful to embolden, highlight, italicise and even create columns within tables (for the more advanced).
Essentially they work by adding a letter or letters in square brackets that define the way you would like the following text (or a pointer to something on the internet, like a picture) to be displayed.
Following the text you want displayed, it is necessary to switch the "formatting" off again, and this is done by repeating the original formatting command in square brackets, but this time with a "/" in front of the letter or letters. But this is the difficult way.
The "Add Tags:" two rows of symbols/icons make it very easy.
e.g. if you want to make some text bold, first type in the text, then, using the mouse highlight the text, then just click on the big B that's the first little icon in the first row of tags.
You will see that it has added the "tags" to the front and end of your text.
If you want it bold and italic, highlight just the text again and click I. You will see that it has added the open and close italics commands either side of the text between the embolden commands.
Then experiment with some of the others.
Remember you can use the "preview" key (next to "post reply") to see the effects of the tags before you post them.
If you "hover" the mouse pointer over the tags you should see, after a short pause, the action the icon will have.
