Flagging new posts

Is it technically possible to flag all new posts in one place such that once the reader has clicked on them they would be taken to the post itself and the new post would then disappear from the list?
I know that the column showing last posts sort of does this but it doesn't let you know if you have been there or read it.
Does that.
Does this make any sense at all or am I talking gibberish?

Hi Kenja, unfortunately to my understanding Proboards, the makers and suppliers of this forum, have not yet included such a feature on their boards but it would be wonderful if they did at the next upgrade, wouldn't it
