Just heard the sad news, that Bert Weedon has passed away.
Bert , with his "play in a day" guitar book, was the inspiration for many a budding guitarist , including Hank Marvin and The Beatles.
He was also a very accomplished player in his own right.

I had the pleasure of backing Bert several times during the 70s and 80s when he was doing the cabaret circuit. The jokes were awful but the playing made up for them. Rest in peace Bert.

Likewise i had the pleasure of sharing a stage with the `great`man and he made everything look so easy [which didn`t apply to me i was a drummer]but a great entertainer and a marvelous teacher Good night Bert now you can rest easy i`ll watch for your star
