motif es rackmount emu proteus 2500 yamaha mfc 10

heres the deal a friend just bought these two units and is using a yamaha p155 as a controler kb
last night i tried to help him set it up so that the miditemp would just bank up and down to the stock sounds in the motif.
we had no luck at all .
i'm no expert but i thought this should be a fairly simple operation.
my question is
does anyone have any experience of this gear who can help set it up?

scrap that my friend has decided to go with the yamaha mfc foot controller instead .
we set it up in about half an hour so it would control the motif sounds with ease
here comes the intresting bit . He also has a emu proteus in his rack system that he'd like to use the arrpegiator from it to alter the motif sounds with.
Q1 is it possible
Q2 if so how is it done
