I have just had an angiogram as a check up on my blocked artery from 12 years ago.I am sure I had a mild heart attack after playing in the band one night.I was told I needed a by pass . I studied up on how to grow your own by pass. It has worked no chest pains for 8 years .Angiogram shows 4 new veins grew across damaged artery. Thanks to a book called,Left For Dead by Dick Quinn www.health.harvard.edu/press_releases/do-it-yourself-cardiac-bypass-surgery

Thanks Frank,
It's a good tip. Something on my "mean to do that" list. I'm sure it would help with my reflux problem too. Just as soon as those double negative figures of temperatures warm up a bit. I don't want bits falling off! ;-)

Hi Frankie. That info is really interesting. I never heard of that before. I had a heart attack 10 years ago and had an angiogram, but thankfully they found no blocked arteries. I do have a wee touch of Angina when I walk briskly though. Would be interested to know what vitamins, minereals and herbs you take. Anyhow I hope your condition continues to improve. After your angiogram, did the doctors make any comment about the new veins? All the best to you Frankie

When it started I was getting chest pains getting out of my car I could feel it pulsing up to my neck. One night after playing at a gig I broke out in a cold sweat, apparantly my face went grey. I went to the Docs and lasted under 2 mins on the treadmill. Herbs I use are Hawthorn,Garlic[odourless] Cayenne, and Coenzyme Q10 [150 mg]. Magnesium and Vit E. I gave up smoking and have pretty much a fat free diet. I use a tread mill and do 40min every morning set to incline lev 3. You should get a check up if you get angina after a brisk walk, dont push it to far just pace yourself and aim for an extra 10 mins a week.

Hi Frankie Interesting to read your post, and see that you've been able to do some self help and save your self an operation, well done to you, the guy I sing with has the same problem, he underwent an operation and had stents put in his artery 5 years ago, he was ill again last October with breathing problems and chest pains, they've done more tests and founds some blockage but not enough to operate yet, I know he has been doing a lot more walking and exercise, he's lost some weight and says he feels better, I must let him know about the vitamins, everything helps. I'm just about struggling to get over the flu, but I did just walk the dog ;D.. my dog has a bad back leg, a touch of arthritis but even that works much better when he goes for a walk, he manages to lift it at every tree. ;D

How did i miss this topic? I must try and get a copy of this book Frankie....i had regular cholestrol and blood tests and everything was fine...then 3 weeks ago i was rushed to hospital with chest pains....an angiogram showed 2 blockages in the main arteries, i was shocked to say the least....i am now waiting on a double by-pass and the doctors will only let me home for a few hours daily. Thanks again for the link..
