Hi everybody
I read somewhere recently - I thought it was here but apparently not - about some software, freeware or shareware, that would organise midi files on a computer.
Has anyone else seen anything like this?
Cheers..Ken

I have found it - it's called MidiCat from midicat.net. There's a free (demo) version which can only hold 1000 files, a personal version for $9.99 which can hold 200,000 files and a professional version which is unlimited for $39.99. Seems like a handy program and will certainly help me to keep everything together. Please have a look and give your opinion. KenJA

Oh well. It was only a joke anyway. If I could figure out how to save flash movies I'd upload it somewhere so everyone could see it, roll their eyes and laugh.

I thought I might raise this one again as I think it is a very useful and CHEAP utility. Please download the free version and try it. I would love to know what you think of it. I am sure it will get more functional as it upgrades.

Thanks JohnG,............ looks neat If its useful, I'll go for the paid version. It really is a boon to be able to sort out the files, but I need to loosen them up from the folders first. Thanks so much !

JohnG, did you know that "ravel" and unravel" have the same meanings ? Your comments please !! I was thinking of using the word unravel , with regard to sorting of my midis, hence this subject !

Hmm!
Ravel and unravel do seem to have similar meanings according to some dictionaries. However I do see them as different. Ravelled (single "L"?) means all mixed up or entangled. To unravel means to unentangle. e.g. the knitted jumper started to become unravelled.
Webster's has Ravel: 2. To fall into perplexity and confusion. [Obs.] Unravel: 1. To disentangle; to disengage or separate the threads of; as, to unravel a stocking.
Tangle and untangle are near synonyms IMO. This quotation came to mind. "Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practise to deceive."
Any good? JohnG.
