They are about £600 I believe Ouch! But then again I always had a feeling Gerry was well flush when it comes to the old readys ;D I wish i was a penny behind you Pat!! ;D I bought mine over a year ago in Athlone, three different dealears wanted €900, €850 and €825 respectively (it is rip-off Ireland you know) ...but i ended up bagging one for €625 which was a good price i thought, it's the all-round versatility that is great...i couldn't be without it!!

Can anyone tell me if it is possible with the sonic cell to change the set list on the fly, as from what I can see, once you programme the order of the songs on the unit, that is the order that you have to do them on stage. I like to change my song list on the go as you never know until you see an audience what they are going to want. Oliver101 I have about 5 USB sticks with my edited midis on Oliver...the Sonic Cell will play 99....yes, the songs are in order but using the navigation button allows you to quickly browse through to any track you wish to use.

Sounds like you bagged yourself a bargain there, Gerry. As I have said before the more I learn about this contraption (my father use to use this term for anything under the sun, even more than "yoke" ;D ) the more I am inclined to get one but it will have to wait until after the holidays this year I'm afraid. The Chancellor of the exchequer [sometimes referred to as the missus] is keeping any eye on all expenditure until then ;D

Thought you might be interested in some free software, well free for the cost of a magazine! This message is from one of the groups I belong to: ===================================== The latest Computer Music Magazine - CM139 - June 2009 - features a completely free version of Samplitude 10 SE. This is a lightweight (up to 48 midi/audio tracks) version of the Magix premier sequencer and Audio Editor. It is serialized and you must apply to Magix for an Activation code. This version does not include some of the awesome synths and effect plugins that are include with the full version, but all of the rich editing functions are available - especially the midi editing features - which are very sophisticated and well worth the price. You can save midi files in format 0 or Format 1 multi-channel. The magazine also includes a tutorial to get you started. The tracks feature a scrub function for both midi and audio tracks. The only downside, I found is that if you have many VST plugins, it can take a long time to find them all which it does each time you make a change to your stable of plugins. ===============================

Yeah so do I. If you subscribe you get it sooner than the bookstores, even across the pond here! I was told to try next week, but even that seems too soon.

Hi everone Thanks for the input to my original question, even though it did get sidetracked a little by the Sonic Cell enthusiasts. Perhaps a Sonic Cell thread should be started in its own right as there surely will be more to come from users. Sure I would like one too but I probably will purchase from ebay in thfutute after they have ceased to make them. By modern day standards with electronic musical equipment this could be measured in months! Ken

Hi everone Thanks for the input to my original question, even though it did get sidetracked a little by the Sonic Cell enthusiasts. I wouldn'y say that Ken, i mentioned it as i use it in conjunction with my midi software, which is what the original question was.

No offence intended and it wasn't directed to anyone in particular. Just a general comment. I still think it would be useful having a dedicated Sonic Cell thread or section as it has really got me interested.
