TG4 website states that it's a ''popular country ‘n western talent show''....''in a quest to win the Glór Tíre title.''
Last nights show featured the following''country and western'' songs...Danny Boy, Isle Of Innisfree, the 2007 Ireland Eurovision Song entry and last weeks show had Noreen Bawn sung......now do you see the flaw???
Some of the contestants are already high profile artists in Ireland so why are they in the search ''in a quest to win the Glór Tíre title'' ?...surely this should be a talent search for NEW stars....

I've been watching the show, and I was very confused in the beginning when the mentors the stars were doing a whole concert and the acts they were mentoring did one or two songs, it seemed they were just promoting there own act.
Having acts normally working on the circuit and being professional in their own right does seem a bit daft if it's a talent show, but I dare say some of the acts who have been on X factor or Britons got talent have been working acts too, what I don't know is what they get at the end of it all, is there a prize?
And who are those judges?

A friend of mine, Tim Lawlor, did well on this last year - but I haven't watched any of this years show. Tim wrote the song, Loughlin's Bar, which was a big hit for Michael English.

Yes I know Tim well..........live quiet close to him.........lovely fella.
I stumbled across the final of the show.........chap from Carlow won it, Nicky Keeley, he is blind but doesnt take away from him.........grand singer.
I remember many years ago playing in venues around the carlow area and having him up for a song...
