I've been using Cakewalk for a long time along with Ketron SD2 and having NO problems...until recently...when I play a midi through the ketron the midi is distorted...it works fine with Anvil Studios though
Any thoughts guys/ladies?

Hi Kev.......  When you say distorted what do you mean and is this with all files or one particular file ? Maybe you could send a file and we can check it out for you....make sure your midi ports have ketron or your midi interface selected in CW Options/Midi Devices.. Barry  |

Hi Barry...it does this with ALL files....but this has only started to happen....midi ports etc are all selected...I even tried to play tracks that I KNOW are ok...but it's still the same.....

Try checking all your midi cables and replacing them with others is the blue light flickering on your Ketron when the files are playing ? if not try a different usb port ..... Failing that try reinstalling the driver software see if that helps ..... Cheerz Barry  |

Except that reset all controllers only resets some of them (see the GM specification).
The only command that resets them all is a General MIDI reset.
It may be that your files are laced with SysEx messages that the SD2 doesn't like, or that do strange things.
Have you looked within the files you use to see?

Right...I've removed and reinstalled Cakewalk Pro Audio 9....and it's still the same....it has to be the fault of Cakewalk because all tracks work fine with Anvil Studios which is also going through the Ketron Kev  |

When you open a file in CW click on Options/Instruments what inst port is listed on the left side of the window ?

Hi Kev Setup sounds ok and you say the sd2 inst def files for cw are loaded and the blue lights flashing while the files are playing .....got me stumped anyway  You also said you checked the midi leads and done a reset on your sd2 right ? Unless the other guys have any other ideas ... I'd still reinstall the midi interface drivers had something similar a good while back and that sorted it for me just needed to update the drivers for Win 7 in my case .......you say they also play fine on Anvil but CW being a more advanced sequencer could have other issues .....btw what Operating System are you using Cheerz Barry |

Hi barry...I uninstalled Cakewalk again and install a free download from the net and it's working fine now....thanks for all your help....hopefully this is it sorted
